Brilliant things to do with the kids at Meadowhall

Days out ideas, kids’ entertainment, menus and more

Planning days out with the kids, from kids-eat-free menus, a great free playground and splash area, soft play, trampoline, climbing, VR games, sweet treats, shopping and toys to the biggest movie blockbusters, special seasonal events, offers and discounts, here’s how to get inspired at Meadowhall.

1. Discover the best kids’ menus

Meadowhall offers a variety of family-friendly dining options that cater to all tastes and preferences. From YO Sushi, where kids eat free during local school holidays when dining with a full-paying adult (minimum £10 spend), to Zizzi’s Bambini menu featuring three courses of healthy and tasty dishes, there’s something for everyone. Las Iguanas serves up exciting Mexican and South American dishes that the whole family will love.

2. See the biggest movies

Vue is the place to see all the big releases with online £4.99 tickets, all day every day. They provide autism-friendly screenings, Big Screen Events including music, opera, ballet and theatre as well as Mighty Mornings (£2.49 tickets) or Big Shorts (£3.99 tickets) for kids. There’s also 2-for-1 tickets with Meerkat Movies and 30% off discounts with Frankie & Benny’s.

3. Have fun at the free Riverside Playground

The Riverside Playground is a great place to let the kids enjoy some serious fun while you get some rest and relaxation. If the sun is out, they can get soaked in the super splash area and go digging in the sandpit or scale heights in the climbing zone and come gliding down slides.

4. Go bouncing at Jump Inc

A large warehouse type play centre with rows of trampolines to play on.

Jump Inc is packed with inflatables, neon playground, trampolines, zip lines and tumble tracks all under one roof so kids can jump, climb and bounce for hours (all in a totally safe environment). Go for open jumps (access to the whole park for over 4s), family takeovers (60 minutes together) and toddler takeovers (two-hour sessions for under 6s). Find all the prices and book here.

5. Jump around at Air Haus

Air Haus is an indoor inflatable park that’s pure joy whatever their age. There’s also Family Haus parties for families with kids under 10, soft play for toddlers, battle games and speed runs for older children and the Haus Cafe for pizza and Project D donuts.

6. Go shopping for kids’ bits and pieces

Meadowhall is home to some of the best stores to find toys, new season wardrobes and entertainment. Head to Argos, Build-A-Bear, It’s So Fluffy and The Entertainer for fun toys (plus the newly upgraded Lego store has fun building tables to keep them enthralled while out shopping).

Head to Marks & Spencer, H&M, River Island, Mango, New Look, Next, Primark, TK Maxx and Zara. And, pop into Claire’s, Kenji and Smiggle for school stationery and fun finds while Waterstones is ideal for picture books, games and activities and chapter books for older kids.

 

 

7. Get climbing at Rock Up

Rock Up’s indoor climbing arena and soft play is built to help everyone take part and have fun! There are 17 climbing walls, the towering Stairway To Heaven and amazing soft play with free briefing sessions so everyone knows how to stay safe. 8. Go for a sweet treat

All that shopping and exploring can leave you feeling wiped out so take the kids for a sugar-boost at Bubble CiTea for fruit teas with rainbow bubbles, lychee jellies and more. Or head to Hotel Chocolat for fun kids’ finds including tasty Tiddly Pots, jaw-dropping hot chocolates and Smile Milk Chocolate lollies. Sign up to their loyalty scheme for discounts and birthday specials.

Pick up delicious cakes, brownies and doughnuts at, Batch’d, Krispy Kreme and Millie’s Cookies. Healthy juices at Boost, fun pick’n’mix at Lindt and Sweet Tradition, ice creams at Snowflake Gelato and out-of-this-world shakes at Shake Lab.

 

 

9. Having a day of games at Fun Station

10. Keep tweens happy…

Have some tweens to keep entertained? Head to Lush for fun and colourful bath bombs, spa finds, hair and body sprays, jellies and more. They also run Lush parties in-store (£25pp to make your own products and limited edition party bags)! Urban Outfitters, Superdrug and Primark are also great places to find travel minis, face masks and a host of beauty brands and perfumes.

11. Grab some food on the go

Make it a quick and easy meal for everyone with some of the best food-on-the-go favourites. We’ve got McDonalds, Five Guys, Greggs (perfect for bacon sandwiches before 11am), Popeyes Chicken, Marks & Spencer , Slim Chickens and Nando’s (sign up to the app to easily order at your table and build up loyalty points with Nandino meals of a main, two sides, a drink or dessert).

12. Get crafting

Unleash their creative imaginations with plenty of pens, paints, paper, glue and DIY projects from The Works, Poundland, and Flying Tiger Copenhagen (who have also got some great fun packs to keep kids entertained on holidays or road trips).

 

13. Let the little ones shop in style

Our mini drivers are available perfect for young adventurers, the Mini Drivers attraction is a fantastic way to keep the little ones entertained while you explore everything Meadowhall has to offer. Find them near the Argos entrance.
