Meadowhall X Self Esteem for Breast Cancer Now
Meadowhall are pleased to announce that £10,000 has been raised for Breast Cancer Now through its partnership with Yorkshire-born artist, Self Esteem.
The collaboration saw limited-edition Meadowhall x Self Esteem t-shirts available exclusively at the centre from November to February, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now.
The design of the t-shirts was based on the Meadowhall dome-inspired outfit worn on-stage by Self Esteem at Glastonbury 2022 as a tribute to the Sheffield-based shopping and leisure destination, which she says has held a special place in her heart since childhood.
The t-shirts were created in collaboration with Ollie Spragley, the designer of the original Glastonbury outfit, whose mother died of breast cancer 10 years ago.
The fundraising announcement comes following the launch of a new black version of the t-shirt just a few weeks ago, which is now available for fans across the world to shop on the official Self Esteem website, with all profits going to the charity*.
Beyond the £10,000 raised, the campaign has reached over 10million people so far, helping to get more people talking about breast cancer and raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes, yet research from Breast Cancer Now reveals that more than 2 in 5 (44%) women in the UK do not check their breasts regularly for possible signs and symptoms of breast cancer. **
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research and support charity, funding world-class research and life changing support for people affected by breast cancer.
The t-shirt has been created in collaboration with Ollie Spragley, the designer of the original Glastonbury outfit, who has his own personal experience of breast cancer with this year marking the tenth anniversary of his mother passing due to the illness.

The earlier breast cancer is diagnosed, the better the chance of successful treatment. Getting to know what your breasts look and feel like normally means it’s easier to spot any unusual changes and check them with your doctor.
Common breast cancer signs and symptoms include:
- A lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest or armpit. You might feel the lump, but not see it.
- Changes in the size or shape of the breast
- A change in skin texture i.e. puckering or dimpling of the skin
- A change in the colour of the breast – the breast may look red or inflamed
- Rash, crusting or changes to the nipple
- Any unusual discharge from either nipple
