The Reytons Return to Meadowhall
The Reytons’ ‘Roll the Dice’ pop-up store landed at Meadowhall throughout December, giving fans an exclusive, immersive retail experience.
South Yorkshire indie favourites The Reytons returned to Meadowhall following the huge success of last year’s pop-up shop, unveiling a brand-new in-centre store to celebrate the release of their latest EP, Roll the Dice. The pop-up gave fans the chance to get closer than ever to one of the region’s most successful home-grown bands.
Located on The Upper Avenue, the Reytons pop-up store featured exclusive merchandise from the new EP, including t-shirts, hoodies, hats and accessories, alongside CDs and vinyl records. Designed as a fully immersive fan experience, the store quickly became a must-visit destination for music fans throughout December.
From Rotherham to Number One
Formed in Rotherham in 2017, The Reytons have built a loyal national following thanks to their high-energy indie anthems and unmistakable Northern identity. Their debut album, Kids Off the Estate, made an immediate impact on the UK charts, while their second album, What’s Rock and Roll?, reached number one in 2023.
That chart-topping release coincided with their first Meadowhall pop-up shop, helping to cement their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting independent bands.
Meeting Fans & Rolling the Dice
During the pop-up’s run, the band made appearances at the centre, with queues of superfans lining The Avenue for the chance to meet the Reytons in person. Fans also had the opportunity to “roll the dice” in-store, literally, for the chance to win exclusive prizes.
What the Band Said
Jonny Yerrell, frontman and vocalist for The Reytons, said:
“Community has always been a massive part of what we do, and coming back to Meadowhall just felt right,” adding, “Meadowhall has backed us from day one, and we’re buzzing to open the doors again and meet everyone. It’s the perfect spot for this, right in the heart of where it all started.”
